Conferment Ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon for Datuk Seri Azman Ujang

On February 17, the Embassy of Japan hosted a conferment ceremony for Datuk Seri Azman Ujang, Former Chairperson of BERNAMA, who received The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, as 2021 Autumn Conferment of Decorations for foreign recipients.
For the past 50 years as a journalist, Datuk Seri has contributed immensely in deepening relations between the two countries by writing and distributing articles on Japan. His articles played a huge role in enhancing Japan’s presence in Malaysia, as well as in fostering pro-Japan and Japanese sentiment of the Malaysian people.
In addition, Datuk Seri played a major role in compiling a booklet published by BERNAMA. The booklet was published in order to extend support to the Japanese press stationed in or covering Malaysia, providing useful and accurate information on Malaysia.
