Conferment Ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star for Admiral Maritime (Ret.) Dato’ Sri Ahmad Puzi bin Ab Kahar, Former Director General of Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA)

On 19th July, the Embassy of Japan hosted a conferment ceremony for Admiral Maritime (Ret.) Dato’ Sri Ahmad Puzi bin Ab Kahar, Former Director General of Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), who was bestowed upon the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, as 2021 Autumn Conferment of Decorations.
Admiral Maritime (Ret.) Dato’ Sri Ahmad Puzi contributed to strengthening countermeasures against piracy and armed robbery in the Straits of Malacca, a route which is essential for Japanese maritime shipping as well. Furthermore, he contributed to enhancing the relationship between Japan and Malaysia through supporting capacity building by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and realizing the grant of two large patrol vessels from Japan to Malaysia. This prestigious award was conferred in recognition of his remarkable contribution to the bilateral relations between Japan and Malaysia.
