On 14 December, Ambassador Oka attended the Virtual MoU Signing and Exchange of Documents Ceremony between SIRIM and Hitachi Asia (M) Sdn. Bhd. This MOU is aimed at improving productivity of Malaysian SMEs by supporting SIRIM’s activities to introduce digital technology and provide solution services to SMEs in the manufacturing industry by providing Hitachi’s digital technology to SIRIM.
In his speech, Ambassador Oka stated that digitalization was accelerating in the world and stressed that Hitachi’s digital technology would significantly contribute to improve Malaysia’s productivity in the manufacturing sector and maintain its status as a hub for regional supply chains while the Asia and Oceania region will be integrated as a single market through the RCEP.
