Handover ceremony for UAV provided through OSA

On September 22, Ambassador SHIKATA Noriyuki attended a handover ceremony for UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) in MINDEF.
Official Security Assistance or “OSA,” which was established in 2023, is a cooperation framework to provide equipment and supplies as well as assistance for infrastructure development, for the benefit of the armed forces and related organizations of like-minded countries, based on Japan’s National Security Strategy. Malaysia is one of the first recipient countries of OSA. This time, UAVs made in Japan are provided to the Malaysian Armed Forces. Under the Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership between Japan and Malaysia, Japan will contribute to strengthening security cooperation with Malaysia through OSA and bilateral exercises, etc.
