On 5 December, Counsellor Kitaoka attended the “Kuromi 20th Anniversary Experience 2025,” held at the shopping mall Central i-City in Shah Alam to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Kuromi, a popular Sanrio character.
In his remarks, Counsellor Kitaoka noted that Japanese pop culture, including characters such as Kuromi, plays an important role in bringing people together across national and linguistic boundaries and in fostering mutual understanding. He also extended his congratulations on Kuromi’s 20th anniversary and her first-ever visit to Malaysia.
It is hoped that exchanges through Japan’s diverse cultural content will continue to grow and be enjoyed in Malaysia, further strengthening cultural ties between Japan and Malaysia.
