Courtesy call by Ambassador Takahashi on Datuk Dr. Aminuddin bin Hassim, Director General of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA)

On 22nd February, Ambassador Takahashi paid a courtesy call on Datuk Dr. Aminuddin bin Hassim, Director General of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA). At the meeting, they exchanged views on cooperation in disaster management through JICA training programs and the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Center (DPPC) of the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), as well as future initiatives in response to the severe floods in Malaysia in December 2021 that also affected Japanese companies operating in the country. They also agreed to further develop cooperation in disaster management between Japan and Malaysia under the Look East Policy, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
