Official visit to Penang by Ambassador Takahashi

From 15^th to 16^th February, Ambassador Takahashi made an official visit to Penang and paid courtesy calls on YAB Mr. Chow Kon Yeow, the Chief Minister of Penang and TYT Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi bin Haji Abdul Razak, the Governor of Penang.
 
At the meetings, they reconfirmed the cordial relations between Japan and Penang over the years and had discussion on further cooperation in fields especially on business and culture exchanges.
 
Ambassador Takahashi and his wife attended the reception to celebrate the 62th birthday of His Majesty The Emperor of Japan which was organized by the Consulate General of Japan in Penang. Furthermore, Ambassador Takahashi visited TORAY Malaysia, IBIDEN Malaysia and IRIICHI Malaysia and exchanged views on their business operations in Penang and the challenges they are currently facing. Ambassador Takahashi and his wife also visited Japan Malaysia Technical Institute (JMTI) and reconfirmed the cooperation so far and exchanged views to further strengthen the relationships between Japan and JMTI.
 
During the visit, Ambassador Takahashi had meetings with the representatives of the Japanese communities, ALEPS (Alumni Look East Policy Society) and JAGAM (Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia) in Penang and expressed his appreciation for their proactive activities as the bridges between Japan and Penang.
