Embassy’s participation in “Bon Odori Johor 2025”

On 19th July, Minister of the Embassy NIHEI Daisuke attended Opening Ceremony of Bon Odori Johor 2025.
In his speech, Minister NIHEI expressed his warmest congratulations for the Bon Odori, a traditional Japanese cultural event being vibrantly celebrated in Johor. He also hoped that Bon Odori Johor will continue to grow as a symbol of our enduring friendship between Japan and Malaysia.
Additionally, in co-organization with JAGAM, the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia set up a booth to introduce Japanese traditional culture on July 19th and 20th.
Visitors experienced the charm of Japanese culture from various aspects through trying on yukata and happi, playing with traditional toys including kendama and ring toss (wanage), as well as writing their wishes on tanzaku strips of paper displayed on Tanabata decorations.
