2026/6/24
On 23 June, Minister NIHEI Daisuke attended the opening ceremony of the first Malaysian outlet of Tsukishima Monja Koboreya, held at LaLaport Kuala Lumpur.

Tsukishima Monja Koboreya is a specialty monjayaki restaurant originating from Tsukishima, Tokyo, and is known for promoting the appeal of monjayaki as well as Japan’s traditional downtown food culture both in Japan and abroad. Its expansion into Malaysia is expected to introduce a wider audience to authentic monjayaki, together with the unique teppan dining culture and culinary experiences that are distinctive to Japan.

The restaurant offers customers the opportunity to experience a uniquely Japanese style of dining, where family members and friends gather around a hot iron griddle to enjoy food together. It is expected to become a popular destination for a wide range of customers. The opening of the restaurant is also anticipated to further deepen understanding and appreciation of Japanese cuisine and culture in Malaysia.

The Embassy of Japan welcomes the opening of Tsukishima Monja Koboreya's first outlet in Malaysia and looks forward to its continued growth and success in the years to come.
