On August 22, Mr. SUZUKI Hideo, Ambassador for Mekong Cooperation, who is visiting Kuala Lumpur, had an exchange of opinion with Raja Dato’ Nushirwan, Director General of the National Security Council, and Mr. Yani, Deputy Secretary General (Policy), Ministry of Defense, respectively.
They exchanged views on easing the tension between Cambodia and Thailand and confirmed cooperation between Japan and Malaysia. Japan commends Malaysia's efforts to address the situation and will continue to encourage both Cambodia and Thailand to promote steady implementation of the ceasefire agreement and de-escalation of the situation, in coordination with Malaysia and other relevant countries.
