Ambassador Shikata attended Japan Expo Malaysia 2026

On 24th July, Ambassador Shikata Noriyuki attended the Grand Opening Ceremony and the Award Ceremony of “Japan Expo Malaysia 2026.”
Japan Expo Malaysia is one of the largest Japan-related events in Malaysia, showcasing a wide range of Japanese attractions such as food, tourism, education, culture, and lifestyle. Now in its seventh edition, the event was co-organized by Siam Connection and G-Yu Creative, and held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 24th to 26th July. The venue hosted a diverse array of Japanese companies, organizations, and performers, offering stage performances and booth exhibitions.
Ambassador Shikata delivered a speech at the grand opening ceremony and also acted as a presenter at the “Japan Expo Malaysia Awards”ceremony, which recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed to the promotion of Japanese culture and business.
In addition, the Embassy of Japan set up a booth at the venue and hosted an origami exhibition and workshops in collaboration with the Malaysia Origami Academy.
