Ambassador Shikata’s Opening Speech at the Workshop on Scam and Cyber-enabled Crime

On 22nd September, Ambassador Shikata Noriyuki delivered the opening speech at the National Operational Planning Workshop on Scam and Cyber-enabled Crime, hosted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
The workshop was made possible through Japan’s financial contribution to UNODC.
In his remarks, Ambassador Shikata mentioned an increase in the number of Japanese nationals arrested at scam centers in Malaysia and emphasized the critical need for strengthening international and interagency cooperation to address the threats posed by organized fraud.
