On 28 March, Ambassador Takahashi gave the opening speech at the workshop on preventing violent extremism that SEARCCT (South East Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia) and UNODC (The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) jointly organised.
The workshop was funded by a contribution from Japan to UNODC.
Ambassador stressed the importance of strengthening cross-regional networks and cooperation of the international community in preventing violent and extremist behavior.
