2025 Spring Conferment of Decorations

On the 29th of April, the Government of Japan announced recipients of decorations for the 2025 Spring Imperial Conferment. Among the recipients, the following is the dignitary within the area of jurisdiction of the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, who received decoration for his outstanding contributions to Japan-Malaysia relationships:
*Founder and Chairman of Sunway Group
Services: Contribution to promoting academic exchanges and strengthening economic relations between Japan and Malaysia.
Decoration: The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon
As the Chancellor of Sunway University, Tan Sri Jeffrey CHEAH has focused on collaboration with Japan, and has contributed to the promotion of exchanges between Japan and Malaysia in the field of education and research by concluding agreements with numerous Japanese universities and institutions.
