Grassroots Cultural Grant for Malaysia-Japan Research Centre in Universiti Malaya

On 28 March, a contract of Grassroots Cultural Grant was exchanged for The Project for Development of Malaysia-Japan Research Centre (MJRC) in the Universiti Malaya (UM) in the presence of Ambassador Takahashi, Professor Dato' Ir. Dr. Mohd. Hamdi, Vice-Chancellor of the UM, and Dato’s colleagues from the UM.
Ambassador Takahashi expressed his delight for providing grassroots cultural grant to the UM, which has been closely associated with the Look East Policy, in this memorial year of the 40th anniversary of the LEP and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Malaysia. He also encouraged the MJRC to become a hub for Japanese studies and Japanese culture in Malaysia.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dato' Mohd. Hamdi expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Japanese Government for its support through the Grassroots Cultural Grant and expressed his expectation that faculty members of the UM promote their research by making use of equipments, which will be provided by the grant.
