Recruitment of a local staff (full-time / security assistant) at the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur

The Embassy of Japan in Malaysia invites applications for the position of a security assistant.
All applicants should submit the following documents to the Consular section of Embassy of Japan in Malaysia by email (recruit@kl.mofa.go.jp) by 17th April 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further interviews and written tests.
  
1. Japanese or English resume with a passport sized photograph (35mm(w) x 45mm(h))
2. A copy of identity card or passport (biodata page and visa page only) 
3. A copy of N1 or N2 level proficiency qualification
 
Job Description
  • Work as an assistant to a security officer at the Embassy
  • The duties include gathering data related to security, guard duties around the embassy facilities, instructing contract security guards, receiving visitors to the Embassy, and providing advice and support to Japanese citizens in need
 
Requirements
  • To be a Malaysian citizen (or possess a long-term visa with work permission in Malaysia such as permanent resident, resident pass or Malaysian spouse visa pass, etc.)
  • To have N1 or N2 level of proficiency in Japanese language
  • To be fluent in English and Malay for daily tasks (additional fluency in Chinese preferable)
  • To have standard office work IT literacy (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Preferably to possess experience or knowledge in security and local regulations (laws)
 
Start of Employment
  • May 2026 onwards (specific starting date to be decided upon discussion)
 
Regular Working Hours
  • 8:30am – 4:30pm on weekdays (lunch break: 12:30pm – 1:30pm), except for the Embassy’s closing days
 
Salary
  • To be determined in accordance with the Embassy’s regulations based on education background, experience and other abilities
