Recruitment of temporary staff (Consular - Visa Section) at the Embassy of Japan

The Embassy of Japan in Malaysia invites applications for a position in the Consular - Visa Section.
All applicants should send the following documents to the Consular Section of the Embassy by e-mail (recruitvisa@kl.mofa.go.jp) by Friday, April 3, 2026.
(1) CV in Japanese with a photograph
(2) A copy of identification card or datapage of passport
After checking the documents, the Embassy will conduct an interview for selection.
1 Requirements
(1) Malaysian Citizen or those who hold residential permission e.g. permanent resident, residence pass holder, spouse visa holder with a qualified status to work in Malaysia
(2) English language proficiency to perform general office work (Malay and Chinese language proficiency are also preferable)
(3) High level Japanese language proficiency, such as Level 2 or higher of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
(4) PC skills (Japanese version of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.)
2 Job Description
Consular work relating to the issuance of visa, including visa application, and information service to visa applicants.
3 Date of Employment
From the middle of April to the end of May, 2026.
4 Working hours
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays (Lunch break: 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.)
5 Salary
To be determined in accordance with the Embassy's regulations, based on the applicant’s education background, experience and ability.
