The opening of the technical workshop for maintenance of Aids to Navigation held by Malaysia and Japan

On 27th February, the opening ceremony of“The Technical workshop on the Aids to Navigation in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore” was held at Maritime Training Institute (MATRAIN) in Port Klang.
At the ceremony, Capt. Halim, Director General, Marine Department, Ministry of Transport as well as Mr. Hamura, Director for international maritime transport, Maritime Bureau, MLIT (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) made opening remarks. At the lecture, Mr. Sasaya from MLIT outlined the Japan’s contribution to ATON (aids to navigation) in the straits of Malacca and Singapore.
This workshop will run to 7th March and the total 19 participants from ASEAN and Oceania countries will undergo various programs such as lectures, filed trips, and onboard trainings to improve their skills for the stable maintenance of ATON.
