Handover ceremony for rescue boats provided through OSA

On October 1, Ambassador SHIKATA Noriyuki attended a handover ceremony for rescue boats in the Jugra Air base.
Official Security Assistance or “OSA,” which was established in 2023, is a cooperation framework to provide equipment and supplies as well as assistance for infrastructure development, for the benefit of the armed forces and related organizations of like-minded countries, based on Japan’s National Security Strategy. Malaysia is one of the first recipient countries of OSA.7 Rescue boats are provided to the Royal Malaysian Air Force, following the UAV made in Japan last week. Under the Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership between Japan and Malaysia, Japan will contribute to strengthening security cooperation with Malaysia through OSA and bilateral exercises, etc.
