Ambassador TAKAHASHI attended a LEP 40th event hosted by CRM

On October 14, Ambassador TAKAHASHI attended the CRM Trial Connect 2022 organized by Clinical Research Malaysia (CRM). This event was also held to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy or LEP.
CRM was established in 2012 by the Ministry of Health Malaysia as a one-stop center of various matters related to clinical research in order to conduct a large number of high quality clinical research projects in Malaysia.
At the event, Ambassador TAKAHASHI and Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin delivered congratulatory remarks and witnessed exchanges of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CRM and Remedy & Company as well as the National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) respectively. The representative of National Cancer Center (NCC), which had exchanged a MoU with CRM in October 2020, also attended to this event.
In opening remarks, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin stated that Japan is the largest foreign investor in clinical trials in Malaysia and that he hopes to further strengthen this relationship through the exchange of MOUs. Ambassador Takahashi also expressed his congratulations on the exchange of the MoUs and his hope that cooperation between Japan and Malaysia in the field of clinical research will be further promoted under the LEP.
