Ambassador Takahashi attended the signing ceremony for the partnership between ASEF and IFRC in support of infectious disease control

On 28th November, Ambassador Takahashi attended the signing ceremony for the partnership between Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The Government of Japan has provided10 million US dollar through ASEF and IFRC for a project to stockpile medical supplies for five Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) member countries - Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh and Pakistan. This new partnership between ASEF and IFRC aims for the smooth implementation of the project. The ceremony was hosted by ASEF and IFRC at Malaysian Red Crescent National Headquarters.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Takahashi expressed his confidence that the partnership would result in an effective and quick response to the needs of these recipient countries and contribute to strengthening their capacity to prevent and respond to various infectious diseases. He also expressed his hope that ASEF and IFRC would continue to build strong cooperative relations with each other as well as the other ASEM member countries.
The Government of Japan will continue its contribution to the global health issues.
