“Discover The Golden Land: IWATE” Reception

On 21 December, the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia organized a “Discover The Golden Land: IWATE” Reception at the Japanese Ambassador's residence in collaboration with Iwate Prefecture, Japan.
More than 80 guests including YB Tuan Ahmad Fahmi Bin Mohamed Fadzil, Minister of Communication as well as Malaysian business people enjoyed cuisines made with ingredients from Iwate Prefecture, such as wagyu beef and scallops, as well as Iwate's local sake.
Ambassador TAKAHASHI from Iwate Prefecture explained in his opening remarks that the New York Times has selected Morioka city, capital of Iwate Prefecture, as the second of 52 cities to visit after London, and said “I hope that all of you will be fascinated by the charms of Iwate and will be excited if you start to pay extra attention to Iwate's products and to think about visiting Iwate”
Mr. TASSO Takuya, Governor of Iwate Prefecture emphasized that 12 years had passed after the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and reconstruction was progressing and encouraged the guests to enjoy the Golden Land.
The Embassy of Japan in Malaysia will continue to cooperate with Japanese local authorities to promote Japanese food and tourism in Malaysia.
