2026/8/4
On 1st August, Ambassador SHIKATA Noriyuki attended the Opening Ceremony of “Pavilion × JAGAM Matsuri 2026,” held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

The Pavilion × JAGAM Matsuri was co-organised by the Japan Graduates' Association of Malaysia (JAGAM) and Kuala Lumpur Pavilion. Following its successful debut last year, this year's event marked its second edition.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Shikata expressed his sincere appreciation to JAGAM and Kuala Lumpur Pavilion for their dedicated efforts in organizing the event. He also highlighted the important role that people-to-people exchanges, particularly the network of Malaysians who have studied in Japan, play as a bridge between Japan and Malaysia. Furthermore, he expressed his hope that the event would further promote exchanges and strengthen ties between the two countries.

The event was held over three days, from 31st July to 2nd August. Throughout the festival, many visitors enjoyed experiencing the richness of Japanese culture through a wide variety of programmes, such as yukata try-ons, Japanese festival food stalls, taiko drumming, yosakoi performances, as well as singing and dance performances.
