The Visit to Malaysia by Mr. MIYASHITA Ichiro, State Minister of Cabinet Office and Secretary General of Japan-Malaysia Parliamentary Association for Friendship

From the 23rd to 25th of December 2019, Mr. MIYASHITA Ichiro, State Minister of Cabinet Office (in charge of Economic Revitalization and the Financial Services Agency) and Secretary General of Japan-Malaysia Parliamentary Association for Friendship visited Malaysia.
On Dec 23, State Minister Miyashita and Ambassador Oka attended the opening ceremony of Japanese Language Training Facility at Kulliyya of Languages and Management of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). This facility has been completed by the Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and generous contributions of books and other materials from 9 organizations including the Japan-Malaysia Association as well as Japanese companies. It is named by the university“Abdul Razak” after late Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Hamid, a prominent professor of Japanese language in Malaysia. The facility is expected to be fully utilized by Malaysian learners of Japanese language in this area including IIUM.
On Dec 24, State Minister had meetings with Mr. Aznan Abdul Aziz, Assistant Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia and Datuk Zainal Izlan Zainal Abidin, Deputy Chief Executive of the Securities Commission respectively. They discussed the economic and financial situation in Malaysia, fin-tech initiatives and ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the financial authorities of Japan and Malaysia.
