Ambassador Oka’s meeting with high officials of IATSS Forum Malaysia Committee

On 4th May, Ambassador Oka had a meeting with Dato’ Zuraidah Atan, Chairman of IATSS Forum Malaysia Committee, Professor Dr. Rofina Yasmin, Secretariat of IATSS Forum Malaysia, and Mr. Lee Choy Hin, President of IATSS Forum Alumni Association Malaysia. IATSS Forum is a non-profit organisation established by Mr. Honda Soichiro, the founder of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in 1985, shortly after Malaysia initiated the Look East Policy. A total of about 200 Malaysian youths have been invited to Japan for 2-3 months leadership training by IATSS Forum. (IATSS Forum belongs to IATSS: International Association of Traffic and Safety Sciences.)
At the meeting, Ambassador Oka, Dato’ Zuraidah and others exchanged views on the achievements by the Forum and its Alumni Association’s volunteering that was inspired by their experiences during the training in Japan. They agreed to collaborate closely to further utilize and disseminate the results of the training toward the 40th anniversary of Look East Policy in 2022.
