On 2nd August, Ambassador Shikata attended the Opening Ceremony of “Pavilion × JAGAM Matsuri,” held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
Pavilion × JAGAM Matsuri was co-organized for the first time by the Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia (JAGAM) and Kuala Lumpur Pavilion, with the aim of offering an opportunity to experience the charm of Japanese culture. The event was held from 30th July to 3rd August at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, featuring a variety of programs such as yukata try-ons, a tuna-cutting show, and vibrant stage performances including taiko drumming, singing, and dance.
In his speech at the Opening Ceremony, Ambassador Shikata expressed his appreciation for the efforts of both JAGAM and Kuala Lumpur Pavilion. He also highlighted the importance of people-to-people exchanges between Japan and Malaysia, particularly the role played by the Malaysians who studied in Japan as vital bridges linking the two nations.
As a symbol of the enduring friendship between Japan and Malaysia, this festival is expected to spark greater interest in Japan among Malaysians and help bring our two nations even closer together.
