2026/8/7
On 7th August, Ambassador SHIKATA Noriyuki attended the “Japan-Malaysia Cultural Exchange Ceremony of D'Bunkasai 2026” held at the Nippon Designers School Malayasia College (NDS).

The ceremony was held to commemorate cultural exchange between Japan and Malaysia and to celebrate the friendship between the two countries. Serving as a symbol of cultural exchange, the ceremony also brought together guest creators active in the cultural and creative sectors of Japan and Malaysia. Ambassador Shikata delivered remarks at the event.

In his remarks, Ambassador Shikata stated that the event provides a valuable opportunity for creators, students and visitors to come together, learn from one another and discover new ideas through art and shared experiences. He also emphasized that two-way exchange—through which inspiration from Japanese animation, manga and design is combined with Malaysia's diverse cultures and perspectives to create new forms of expression—is one of the most important values in cultural cooperation.

D'Bunkasai will be held over two days, from Friday 7 August to Saturday 8 August. The programme includes talkes by prominent creators from Japan and Malaysia, including Mr. HABARA Nobuyoshi, one of Japan’s leading animation directors and animators, as well as student performances, exhibitions of student works and Japanese cultural experiences.
