Ambassador Shikata attended The Opening Ceremony of the Razak Sensei Gallery

On 6th August, Ambassador SHIKATA Noriyuki attended the Opening Ceremony of “the Razak Sensei Gallery” at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), together with YBhg. Professor Dato’ Dr. Md Amin bin Md Taff, Vice Chancellor of UPSI and other distinguished guests.
The Razak Sensei Gallery is a newly established exhibition in the National Education Museum at UPSI. It commemorates the life and achievements of Professor Abdul Razak Abdul Hamid (“Razak Sensei”), who studied in Hiroshima, survived the atomic bombing on 6 August 1945, and later became an educator who served as a bridge between Malaysia and Japan. The gallery aims to convey to future generations the importance of peace, humanitarian values, education, and intercultural understanding.
In his remarks, Ambassador Shikata congratulated UPSI on the opening of the Razak Sensei Gallery and paid tribute to Razak Sensei, who survived the atomic bombing and dedicated his life to promoting peace and education, thereby making significant contributions to mutual understanding and the development of friendly relationship between Japan and Malaysia. He also expressed his hope that the gallery would serve as a place to pass on the importance of peace, education, and intercultural understanding to future generations, while further promoting educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
It is hoped that the Razak Sensei Gallery will continue to preserve and share Razaki Sensei’s legacy, encourage visitors to reflect on the importance of peace, education, and mutual understanding, and further strengthen cooperation between UPSI and Japan in the fields of academia, culture, and industry.
