Ambassador Shikata Attends the Inaugural Flight Send-Off for Malaysia Airlines’ Kuala Lumpur–Fukuoka Service

On 2 September, Ambassador SHIKATA Noriyuki attended as Guest of Honor the inaugural flight send-off held at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 to commemorate the resumption of Malaysia Airlines’ Kuala Lumpur–Fukuoka service.
The ceremony featured an official launch, ribbon-cutting, and photo session, followed by the boarding announcement for the inaugural Flight MH56 to Fukuoka. The event was attended by representatives from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) and Malaysia Airlines, as well as from the codeshare partner, Japan Airlines (JAL). This route is operated as a codeshare with Japan Airlines.
In his remarks, Ambassador Shikata welcomed the resumption of the direct service after nearly twenty years, noting that the restoration of this route connecting Kuala Lumpur and Fukuoka (Kyushu) will further invigorate people-to-people exchanges, expand tourism and business ties, and deepen overall Japan–Malaysia relations. He expressed his respect and appreciation to all those involved.
