13th Japan International Manga Award 2019 Bronze Winner Ceremony

On 6th of July, Ambassador Oka celebrated Malaysian Bronze Award winner of the 13th Japan International Manga Award 2019, Mr. Lam Quek Chung @ Leoz for his prize-winning work, Detektif Hantu:Kesumat. His mystery-horror-themed manga published in Bahasa Malaysia is recognized internationally and won this award among 345 works applied by artists from 66 countries worldwide.
Ambassador Oka congratulated Mr. Leoz on his achievement and expressed his high expectation that this award will spur him to produce even more outstanding manga. In his speech, Ambassador Oka also stated that he was impressed by the details in Mr. Leoz's drawing, and commended the elaborated storyline of the suspense.
The prize-giving ceremony was also attended by Malaysian well-respected cartoonist, Datuk Mohd Nor Khalid @ Lat and representatives of Kadokawa Gempak Starz and Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur.
