Foreign Minister’s Commendation Award Presentation Ceremony – Malaysia Judo Federation

On 8th April 2021, the Embassy of Japan held an award ceremony to present the Foreign Minister’ s Commendation (FY 2020) to Malaysia Judo Federation (MJF) as a sign of profound appreciation and respect for the outstanding contribution in promoting judo in Malaysia.
In his speech, Ambassador Oka highlighted the outstanding leaders of MJF, who have demonstrated unwavering commitment to introducing judo in Malaysia. The leaders includes Datuk Andrew Lim, Mr. Johnny Khoo, Datuk Mohd Taufik Omar, YB Md Salikon, Datuk Razali dan Datuk Sakamoto Eiro. The various Judo-related activates under the guidance of MJF have contributed to further strengthen the friendship between Japan and Malaysia.
Ambassador Oka also hoped that this award recognition would encourage many young and talented Malaysians to learn about Judo and that Judo would be introduced into Malaysian schools as part of co-curricular activity in the near future.
The Embassy wishes the Malaysian judo team great success in the future and hopefully Malaysia judokas will compete in the next Olympic Games.
