Ambassador Shikata attended the opening ceremony of Japanese Film Festival 2026

On 8th September, Ambassador Shikata Noriyuki attended the opening ceremony of the Japanese Film Festival (JFF) 2026, organized by the Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur.
In his speech, Ambassador congratulated the festival on its 22nd anniversary. He also hoped that this event would provide an opportunity for Malaysian friends to deepen their interests in Japanese people and culture.
At the ceremony, “TOKYO TAXI” was premiered at the GSC MyTOWN of MyTOWN Shopping Centre.
The JFF 2026 is held from 12th September to 18 October 2026, with 14 Japanese films showcased at the Golden Screen Cinemas in Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
