A joint team of Malaysian and Japanese experts conducted lectures and trainings for members of the Disaster Management and Relief Committee in Hulu Langat and they learned basic concepts of disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM), risk assessment of target areas and methodologies for planning local DRRM activities.

JICA plans to hold another TOT workshop in May for stakeholders in other target areas in Selangor. Japan has lots of expertise in the field of disaster risk reduction and prevention. By sharing these knowledge and technology gained from such severe terrain and weather conditions, we will support improvement of disaster prevention measures, restoration, and reconstruction in Malaysia.
