2020/2/11
In order to enhance collaboration and cooperation as anti-piracy measures with maritime security agencies, JCG aircraft FALCON 2000 and JCG patrol vessel “Echigo” visited Malaysia on the 21st ~ 24th January and 22nd ~ 25th January respectively. It was the 10th port call in Malaysia by a JCG vessel and the 6th parking in Malaysia by a JCG aircraft. The visit was especially significant as it was the first time a JCG vessel and an aircraft visited Malaysia simultaneously.
During this visit, JCG participated in the oil spill response workshop co-hosted by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA). JCG also held a private viewing session of the FALCON 2000 for Malaysian Officials as well as observed MMEA’s anti-piracy training and exchanged views on anti-piracy activities.
