ALEPS EKIDEN Half Marathon 2025
2025/9/11
On 7th September, “ALEPS EKIDEN Half Marathon 2025” was held, organized by Alumni Look East Policy Society (ALEPS). Minister NIHEI Daisuke attended the opening ceremony. This year marked the second edition of the event. Approximately 1,200 runners participated in this event, which incorporated the Japanese ekiden concept—a relay-style half marathon run in teams of four, passing a tasuki (sash) from runner to runner. In addition to the half marathon, a 5 km fun run was also held.
During the opening ceremony, the winning teams in each category were presented with awards. The event venue also hosted the Sakura-Hibiscus Festival, featuring cultural performances such as the Awa-odori dance, as well as food booths offering both Japanese and Malaysian cuisine. The event was lively and well-attended by participants and visitors alike.
Two teams from the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia also participated in the ekiden.
