Minister Karimata attended the opening ceremony of the Japan Foundation’s travelling exhibition “NINGYŌ: Art and Beauty of Japanese Dolls”

On May 7, Minister Karimata attended the opening ceremony of the Japan Foundation’s travelling exhibition “NINGYŌ: Art and Beauty of Japanese Dolls”, held at Muzium Negara. The exhibition, which will be held until July 8, introduces Japanese dolls and its culture that have been nurtured in the history and folklore of Japan through 4 sections: “Ningyō to pray for children’s growth,” “Ningyō as fine art,” “Ningyō as folk art,” and “Spread of Ningyō culture”. The exhibition shows the splendid designs of Ningyō as well as their historical depth and craftsmanship.

In his speech, Minister Karimata expressed his hope that this exhibition would offer an opportunity for Malaysians to gain a deeper understanding of art and beauty of Japanese doll culture and its diversity.
