Embassy of Japan supported Post-Flood Relief Mission by PAMAJA

PAMAJA, an alumni body of JICA Young Leaders Program in Japan, organized the Post-Flood Relief Mission to the people in the affected area. The Government of Japan decided to provide financial support through JICA to this mission, and the Embassy of Japan, in collaboration with PAMAHA and JICA Malaysia Office, announced its launching on 7th January.
On 9th January, the staff both from the Embassy of Japan and JICA Malaysia Office took part in distributing essential goods and removing debris in Janda Baik, Pahang and in distributing essential goods in Shah Alam, Selangor. In Kampung Chemperoh, Pahang, we expressed to the affected people our will to provide technical assistance on disaster prevention, and received gratitude quotes from the village head. On 11th January, we joined the delivery of essential goods to the affected people in Temerloh, Pahang.
The Embassy of Japan sincerely hopes that this assistance will be helpful for the people in the affected areas to overcome the difficulty caused by the flood, and that we can develop further cooperation with Malaysia in the field of disaster risk management through Japan’s experience and expertise.
