Ambassador Takahashi attended a Handover Ceremony for Grant Assistance to Ministry of Health Malaysia

On 9th June, Ambassador Takahashi attended Handover Ceremony for Grant of medical devices worth approximately US $5 million (RM 19.3 million) from the Government of Japan to the Government of Malaysia. The purpose of this grant is to contribute to countermeasures against the Covid-19 in Malaysia. The ceremony was hosted by the Minister of Health, YB Khairy Jamaluddin at Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar, Kedah.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Takahashi expressed his great pleasure in making this grant on behalf of the Government and people of Japan, and his sincere hope that this grant will contribute to the treatment of Malaysian friends infected with the Covid-19 and other diseases. Minister Khairy Jamaluddin expressed his gratitude for the grant, saying that He was honored to be able to celebrate the friendship between Malaysia and Japan through this grant in the 40 years anniversary year of the Look East Policy. Health Minister also expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of Japan for all their contributions to Malaysia, including the grant of the AZ vaccine in July 2021.
The Government of Japan will continue to cooperate with the Ministry of Health for the health of the Malaysian people.
