Cheque Presentation Ceremony for the Flood and Heat Wave Victims in Japan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia

1. Ambassador Miyagawa attended today by invitation the Cheque Presentation Ceremony for the Flood and Heat Wave Victims in Japan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. 

2. In his remark, YB Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, expressed sincerest condolences of the government and the people of Malaysia to the victims and the bereaved families who have suffered from the flood and heat wave in Japan. YB Foreign Minister also stressed the strong bond between Japan and Malaysia.   

3. After the remark, a cheque of contribution amounting to RM 500,000 was handed over from YB Foreign Minister to Ambassador Miyagawa. 

4. Ambassador Miyagawa conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to YB Foreign Minister by stating that the people of Malaysia kindly express solidarity with Japan whenever it encounters difficult challenge and the people of Japan will never forget their kindheartedness.
