Ambassador Takahashi visited to the JMTI

On 16 February, Ambassador Takahashi visited the JMTI (Japan Malaysia Technical Institute) and met Mr. Shakib bin Ahmad Shakir, Director General of Manpower Department, and Ms. Norliza binti Yaakub, Director of JMTI.
JMTI has been active in Penang since 2000, providing training in "Electronics", "Computer", "Mechatronics" and "Manufacturing", and has produced 6754 graduates to date, contributing to the development of advanced industries not only in Penang, but in Malaysia as a whole. For the establishment and operation of JMTI, the Japanese government has provided preliminary studies, dispatched experts, and provided machinery.
During the meeting, Mr. Shakib expressed his gratitude for the various support from the Government of Japan and JICA for the establishment and operation of JMTI. Ambassador Takahashi expressed his hope to keep close cooperation with JMTI for human resource development in Malaysia. In addition, both parties agreed to work even more closely towards the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy.
