“Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador” Award Ceremony for Mr. SAITO Sam Makoto

On 7 February, the Embassy of Japan held an award ceremony for the "Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador" at Sakana Japanese Dining, where Ambassador SHIKATA presented Mr. SAITO Sam Makoto with the Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador certificate.
During the ceremony, Ambassador SHIKATA highlighted the growing popularity of Japanese cuisine in Malaysia and mentioned the establishment of the very first "Japan Food Export Platform" in an Islamic country in Malaysia last year. He has high expectations of Mr. SAITO, stating that, "As a Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador, I hope that Chef Saito will further contribute to ensuring that Malaysians of all backgrounds, including Malays, could enjoy Japanese cuisine."
In his speech, Mr. SAITO touched on his interactions with Japanese seafood producers and spoke about his journey to make Japanese cuisine more well-known to the world. He also expressed his aim to "not only serve Japanese food but to share its culture and the stories behind its ingredients.”
