Conferment Ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for Mr. Edward Lee Chee Peng

On March 17, the Embassy of Japan hosted a conferment ceremony for Mr. Edward Lee Chee Peng, President of Japanese Language Society Malaysia (JLSM), the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays, as 2021 Autumn Conferment of Decorations for foreign recipients.
Mr. Edward has always played a central role at the Japanese Language Society of Malaysia (JLSM), including having served as its President for several years. He is passionate about promoting Japanese education, language and culture to Malaysians. For over 20 years, he was the Assistant Head of the Japanese Language Department at the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur and has greatly contributed to the promotion of Japanese language education.
This prestigious award was conferred in recognition of his remarkable contribution to the bilateral relations between the two countries.
