Ambassador Shikata attended Japan Expo Malaysia 2025

On 18th July, Ambassador Shikata attended the Grand Opening Ceremony and the Award Ceremony of “Japan Expo Malaysia 2025.”
 
Japan Expo Malaysia is one of the largest Japan-related events in Malaysia, showcasing a wide range of Japanese attractions such as food, tourism, education, culture, and lifestyle. Now in its sixth edition, the event was co-organized by Siam Connection and G-Yu Creative, and held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 18th to 20th July. The venue hosted a diverse array of Japanese companies, organizations, and performers, offering stage performances and booth exhibitions.
 
In his speech at the Grand Opening Ceremony, Ambassador Shikata expressed his appreciation for the event and emphasized its important role as a platform for promoting mutual cooperation between Japan and Malaysia.
 
Ambassador Shikata also served as a presenter at the newly launched “Japan Expo Malaysia Awards,” which recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed to the promotion of Japanese culture and business.
 
In addition, the Embassy of Japan set up a booth at the venue and co-hosted an origami exhibition and workshops in collaboration with the Malaysia Origami Academy.
 
Through Japan Expo Malaysia, it is hoped that people of all generations in Malaysia will be able to experience the many charms of Japan, and that the event will further expand the possibilities for Japan–Malaysia collaboration.
