On 17 October, the Conferment Ceremony of 2019 Spring Imperial Decorations for foreign recipients was held at the Japanese Ambassador’s Residence. Y.Bhg Tan Sri Syed Hamid Syed Jaafar Albar, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, received the Imperial decoration “Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun.”
He was conferred the order in recognition of his contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting friendship between Japan and Malaysia and to strengthening Japan-ASEAN relations.
