2026/1/28
On 23rd January and 24th January, a booth titled “The Art of Japan: Tea Ceremony & Cultural Experience” was presented at Kuantan City Mall in Kuantan, Pahang. The event was organized by the Embassy of Japan, in collaboration with OMOTESENKE DOMONKAI International Association Kuala Lumpur Unit, and welcomed more than 100 visitors over the two days.
At the booth, the tea master and tea practitioner from OMOTESENKE DOMONKAI International Association Kuala Lumpur Unit, provided explanations on the overview and history of the Japanese tea ceremony, while also offering visitors the opportunity to experience preparing tea themselves. In addition, visitors were able to try on yukata and happi, and received copies of niponica, a magazine on Japan published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, as well as tourism brochures from various regions of Japan.
Furthermore, the successful implementation of this event was made possible with the generous support of students from the Japanese Language Professional Club of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah.
Through this Japanese cultural event, we were delighted to welcome people of all generations from regional areas of Malaysia. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all visitors for their enthusiastic participation, which allowed them to experience the appeal of Japanese culture in an accessible and engaging manner. It is hoped that such exchanges will further expand the potential for cooperation between Japan and Malaysia in the future.
