The Conferment Ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays upon Dr. Beh Chor Khim, Director and Founder of Japan Medicare Clinic

On March 22, the Conferment Ceremony of 2018 Spring Imperial Decorations for foreign recipients was held at the Japanese Ambassador’s Residence. Dr. Beh Chor Khim received the Imperial decoration “Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays”.

In 1978, Dr. Beh Chor Khim received the Japan Government Scholarship for Foreign Students and pursued his studies at the Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He acquired Japan medical practitioner license in 1984, and Doctorate in Medicine in 1989. After returning to Malaysia, he worked at the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital and later founded “Japan Medicare Clinic” in 1992, the first clinic in Kuala Lumpur which provides medical treatment in Japanese language.

Since then, the clinic not only provided medical treatment and health care to the students and teachers of Japanese School and the Japanese community in Kuala Lumpur, Japan Medicare Clinic also contributed to the promotion of Japanese style medical care in Malaysia. Dr. Beh was conferred the order in recognition of his remarkable contribution in promoting mutual understanding and bilateral exchange in medical field between Japan and Malaysia.
