Ambassador Shikata attended the 4th Alumni Meeting of the Malaysia Alumni of Sakura Science Association

On 23 November, Ambassador Shikata attended the 4th Alumni Meeting of the Malaysia Alumni of Sakura Science Association. In his speech, Ambassador expressed his celebration to Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and MASSA for organizing this valuable conference and encouraged the attendees to revisit Japan in the future by describing attraction of studying and researching in Japan.　
 
The Sakura Science Association is an alumni network of Sakura Science Exchange Program, which JST initiated in 2014 and has so far invited more than 2,300 promising Malaysian youths.

JST is also promoting exchanges between young talents through the Young Talents Exchange and Capacity Development Program (Y-tec) in Networked Exchange, United Strength for Stronger Partnerships between Japan and ASEAN (NEXUS). This year, 177 talented young people from Malaysia and Japan were selected to participate in the mutual exchange (invitation and dispatch) between the two countries, the largest number of participants among any ASEAN country.
