2020/2/25
On the 18th of February, Ambassador Oka paid a courtesy call on Inspector-General of Royal Malaysia Police Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Abdul Hamid bin Bador at his office. IGP Tan Sri Hamid readily agreed to Ambassador Oka’s request to render support for safety of Japanese residents in Malaysia as well as security at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020. Furthermore, Ambassador Oka and IGP Tan Sri Hamid exchanged views on many issues, including public safety in Malaysia.
On this occasion, Ambassador Oka presented IGP Tan Sri Hamid with 100 sets of “Communication Support Boards” that were made by the Embassy and contain trilingual (Japanese, Malay and English) key words in lodging police report on the case of traffic accident, theft and lost items to support Japanese residents and tourists who unfortunately face such cases. By referring to the relevant items on the Communication Support Board, they can easily inform necessary information to police officers. IGP Tan Sri Hamid appreciated the efforts by the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia and said that Royal Malaysia Police would make the most of these Communication Support Boards.
